It’s time to visit the place where Christina gets the inspiration for home deco and for me to use a hammer. Talking about the HGTV show Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines. It’s a great show to watch and you really feel their love for each other and what they do day to day. Stopping by in Waco for a quick visit to be a tourist and sight see we were able to get a gander at the Silo and Market place they created in Waco Texas. Larger picture of the downtown Silo and Market place.
The market place is a large open area for families to explore and for the ladies to take a ton of selfies so be ready for that. But this place has something for everyone. The turf area with footballs and soccer balls and games equipment provided, a garden box area, cute photo opps scattered around the place and a row of food trucks. Making this a great place to take the family or to just stop by with guests.
This is a wide open place with the old solos in just about every view of the place. Taking pictures on the boxes was about 3 minutes and there is a line to do it. In the center of the area is a large porch style swing that can fit an entire family and some really cool hanging pots and vegetation with a clever drip system that caught my eye. The garden area was simple and impressive to introduce the city folk into the planting scene.
The simple garden bed and full of mulch to keep the plants happy and growing and safe from the hot Texas sun. In the near future I want to do the same to have a better turn out for my plants like my peppers and herbs.
This is big pretty bush, not sure what it is since there is no label or tag, any suggestions on the names of the plants?
Every new adventure we go on we have to take a picture of our shoes. Not so show of our shoes but to show we walked here or have been here, Christina started it for us and I like it. Started as a Halloween costume and TV show and now its us here in Waco Texas at the place.
Heading inside the main building to see all the merchandise was packed full of people. Joanne and Chip have a collection sold at Target and that shows the most popular items but this has it all and then some. A lot of little nick knacks and things for home decor.
It’s demo day! and I have the hammer and ready to make a mess! Before we left the store we got some stuff for memories of course. This is one of the cute little things that came from Texas, I really like it a lot…
